Speed Alert

Support

Tap Help at the top of your dashboard, or email support@speedalertapp.com, and a person replies within one business day. Include the name of the camera and roughly when the car passed if your question is about a reading.

How accurate are the readings?

Every reading is an estimate with a stated “likely” range, typically about ±10%. Speed Alert measures how fast a car moves across the picture and learns the scale of your street from the cars it has already seen, so readings sharpen over the first day. Readings are for awareness and advocacy; they are not evidence of a violation.

What gets stored?

A small thumbnail and the measurement for every car, plus a short marked-up clip for cars over your alert line. Other cars play from your own Ring recording when you tap Watch, and that copy is deleted after 7 days. Nothing is read from license plates, no faces are recognised, and nothing is shared between households.

Changing the alert line, speed limit, or units

Open your dashboard and use the settings under each camera. Alerts use the low end of the likely range by default, so a car has to be clearly over the line before you hear about it.

Missing cars or no readings

Speed Alert only sees what your camera records. In the Ring app, check that the camera is online, that motion detection covers the street, and that Motion Frequency is set to Frequently so gaps between recordings are short. Cameras that look straight down the road, rather than across it, measure fewer cars.

Disconnecting and deleting your data

In the Ring app, open My Apps and remove Speed Alert; recordings stop being fetched immediately. To erase everything we hold, use Delete my data on the dashboard or email support@speedalertapp.com. Deletion covers all copies, including backups, within 30 days.

Billing

Subscriptions are billed and cancelled through the Ring app under My Apps. Access continues to the end of the paid period.
